WCU has officially started. Friday we moved in freshman and spent some time in the dorms trying to get to know some students. It can be overwhelming trying to meet people when you have 800 freshman in one dorm. So we just begin small, meeting people on different halls and seeing what connections we can build. Saturday night we rounded up a bunch of people to play soccer and had a blast. Me and one of our students just went down the halls of some dorms and invited guys to play. We went into one room and asked if anyone wanted to play soccer and the guys were like "Awesome...I am there." It was a fun time to connect with students playing soccer in the rain. We got to share with some students and there are already some students interested in bible studies and coming to Campus Outreach meetings. We are excited about what God is going to do in our ministry this year.
Our theme for the semester is MORE. We want God to do more in us and through us. We want to love God more, hate sin more. We want more people to come to Christ, more people to come to meetings, more people in bible studies, more people at conferences and retreats. We want more leaders in God's kingdom being built resulting in more glory and praise to God. Please pray for us that we would not be content with mediocrity spiritually, but that we would always want more for us and for others. Ephesians 3:20 is kind of a theme verse. "to him who is able to do immeasurable more than we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
May we always more of Christ in our lives to his praise and glory.
