Goggles and face masks

In case anyone else is getting tired of winter, Krieg thought he would remind you of the warm weather to come this summer...The past two days he has been wearing goggles around while playing ball, running up and down the hall ways, and just about anything else. If you ask him why he is wearing them, he'll tell you it's to protect his eyes, both from the sun, and from incoming basketballs. We went to a WCU girls' basketball game this weekend and one of the girls had a mask on to protect her broken nose. Well, Krieg has not stopped talking about Miss Emily's mask! This is his attempt to replicate it, I guess.

No new baby news. We are still hoping Karis will make her appearance soon! Hopefully once Kevin is back from all of his out of town trips though. Tomorrow is the last one, so I think Friday or Saturday would be a great day to be born!

It's official

athleticsOur family is on the move! We will be picking up and leaving the giant metropolis of Cullowhee and Western and headed to Clemson in the late spring/early summer. Kevin will be leading a team of 4-6 new staff to start Campus Outreach at Clemson. We put our house on the market on Thursday, and took a trip down to Clemson yesterday to look at some houses down there. We are hoping to move just about as soon as we can sell our house and buy another one, so that we can have the summer to get settled in and make contacts on campus, in the church, etc.
It is finally starting to become real that we are moving. Yesterday was really fun driving around Clemson and imagining living there. I, personally, am really excited about living in a bigger college town- ie, more restaurants, grocery stores (they are planning on building a Publix soon!!!) and being closer to Greenville, among other things. But I didn't realize that it would still have the small town feel that I've grown to love about Cullowhee. Plus, Kevin is super excited about being able to actually pull for a team that everyone gets excited about. We have been trying to teach Krieg that Clemson's mascot is the Tiger, but he is kind of stuck on the Catamount! (He sure does make a good catamount sound!)
All this is exciting, but slightly nerve racking for me in light of being 3 weeks away from having a second child. We are trusting God for His timing to be perfect between Karis' birth, the showing and selling of our house, and finding another one in Clemson. I have been slightly overdueing it a bit around the house, trying to get things super organized, decluttered, and clean to be able to show to potential buyers. I wish I could attribute my fervency in cleaning to nesting, but I'm pretty sure it is only due to mild anxiety about showing our house at any moment! But I'm praying that my heart would continually be mindful that it is God who sells houses and not cleanliness and lack of toys on the floor! I certainly am thankful to have a God who calls us not to worry about tomorrow, but to trust in His constant provision for His children in His perfect timing, for His own glory and our good!

4 weeks and counting

I am officially four weeks away from my due date. We are hoping and praying Karis makes her appearance sooner than that, but not counting on it. I was induced 11 days late with Krieg! But I am feeling way more pregnant this time around, and Karis is way more active than Krieg, making for painful afternoons and sleepless nights! I had an ultrasound yesterday because I had been measuring too small for a few weeks, but everything checked out great! Karis weighed in at about 6 lbs 4 oz, which is right at 50%. You could also see a little bit of hair on the top of her head, which was fun.
I think I made my last purchases today to be ready for her arrival, including a more feminine changing pad cover than the navy blue one we used for Krieg, a pack and play mattress cover for all of our traveling, and one more crib sheet. Hopefully that will be all for a while. We had a shower at church last weekend, so the closet is now full of cute baby girl clothes and lots of diapers!! Thanks everyone!
